Did you play the value game yesterday?  What did you learn about yourself were you surprised by anything you chose from the list?  Sometimes when we see a list of values and then asked to choose the ones that are important to you can bring up some feelings.  What did you feel?  Let’s play the value and feeling game.   For each of the ten value you chose yesterday note any feelings that a raise when you read that value.  Can you locate that feeling in your body?  This can be quite hard if you don’t normally connect to your body but it’s worth learning how to connect you emotions to physical sensations as they often give use a quick entry point to what is important to us.  As an example you have the value peace and you relate the emotion calm with that value.  What happens to your body?  For me my body softens, shoulders drop and I get a buzzy feeling in my tummy.  This is like an ‘ah moment’.  Often your body will react before you mind notices the emotion.  Your body is telling your mind: this is how I feel.  Noticing this give you a clue as to whether a value you hold has been access in a positive manner.  If my body tensed breathing increased this can give you a clue as to a value being challenged.

A challenge listen to your body and see if a value has been supported or challenged.
