Touch is an important part of life and we often take it for granted. We hug friends and family and shake hands with people we have just met. Simple contact releases a number of hormones which make us feel good. Oxytocin is the most important of these hormones. Its often refered to as the cuddle hormone. Oxytocin is a neuropeptide, which basically promotes feelings of devotion, trust and bonding.
