Mindfulness is a form of meditation were we remain aware in the present moment.  This sounds like it should be simple.  However, the mind likes to dwell either in the future or the past.  Neither of these exists.  Action can only be taken in the now.  By making mindfulness a regular practice you may experience the following benefits:

  • Reducing fixation on negative emotions
  • Improves focus
  • Improves memory
  • Reduces impulsive and emotional reactions
  • Improves satisfaction with relationships

The guided meditation below explores holding your attention using your breath as a point of focus.  This allows this meditation to be used anywhere you find yourself without having to have external tools.  You can adapt mindfulness to fit the amount of time you have available during your day.

Being able to clearly focus on something is an important skill to master in these times when there are so many distractions from social media, emails, text messages.
